Food Combining for optimal digestion and vital life force

Anasha in Kamakura at the Bamboo Temple…

Hi Beloveds,

Day 6 of our Green Smoothie Week…

Yesterday, we talked about “Cleansing”, and i mentioned that we have problems with the digestion for not respecting natural laws, or not being informed about them.
Allow me today to talk about “food combining” and “over-eating”, and also “emotional eating”.
One friend from our “Green Smoothie Experience” wrote yesterday that “after a very strong experience”... she went home, broke the cleanse, and ate her usual food.  She felt very bad after it- physically, and mentally, and emotionally.  “Meditation” is preparing us for these kinds of situations… thus the importance of practicing it, allowing the “inner witness” to grow, creating more and more distance between the watcher and the witnessing… in order to “des-I-dentify” and not get sooo involved or overwhelmed by strong situations.  She had received a strong “negative” discharge and took it in.  Back home, she could have also just sat, sorting out what had happened, feeling it in its full intensity… allowing the pain to be relived, re-leaved, {released} with the distance.  We are afraid of our feelings… we are used to cover them up with… food, distractions- anything that prevent us to be there with what is.
Also, many people have lots of anger boiling inside, and they start to eat until obesity or the point of self hate, in order to not express it… the list is endless.
At this point you need to bring “the witness” and some self-discipline to the situation.  And, if you fail, forgive yourself, and tell yourself that “next time i will be more alert”…
Now, to the “food combining” principles:
This is Javier, an amazing organic farmer, giving Anasha her salad straight from mother earth

Food combining implies “what foods you can combine with each other and still have a sound digestion”.  When you eat foods that are not compatible you will suffer fermentation inside, which produces sugars and alcohol {yep!}.  So the yeast inside of us starts to multiply, and the colonization in the gut gets out of hand… it even goes further, and before you know it, through the bloodstream it has reached organs, glands, joints, your brain, etc.  You see many people with “yellow toenails”… this is fungus accumulating there… itchy ears, teary eyes = fungus.

Why is this so?!?

The yeast feeds off these sugars and multiply.  Your digestive tract is weak and cannot fight the invaders.
By Combining or practicing food Combining:
You will feel better, be less bloated, have less gas, and your weight will normalize… you will have more energy.

Anasha at her favorite store- the Organic Farm!

The Practice:

In general, fruits encourage the growth of yeast in the body.  Fruits low in sugar like lemons, limes, black currants and cranberries are OK.  All other fruits are sweet… so if you have “candida”, i would recommend that you do not indulge in fruits for a while, except if you eat the fruits and DO NOT CONSUME more than 5% to a maximum of 10% of all your daily food consumption in “fat”.  Many medical studies have been made, and i have personally experienced it, that “fruits with very little fat = no problem”. Fruits “with more than 10% fat = bloating, gas, etc.
That is why i am telling you not to put fat {avocados, nuts} in your smoothies, as you will be asking for trouble in terms of digestion.

Fruits alone pass through digestion in 1/2 hour.   Eating fruits with Proteins or starches {carbs} that take 3-5 HOURS or more to digest… this holds the fruit up, causing them to ferment. which means NO ASSIMILATION of NUTRIENTS, and the perfect milieu for yeast over growth.
The only Fruits that combine well with Proteins are “citrus”, or acidic fruits {consult my chart in the Blog from last September}.  The BEST TIME TO EAT FRUIT is in the morning because your stomach is truly empty… but i would never eat them while drinking my coffee.  When you wake up, you should hydrate your body and guts by drinking 2 to 3 glasses of water, warm water with 1/2 lemon could follow {very good for liver}… then fruits… then wait 1/2 hour before drinking tea, coffee, or to eat more…
2nd rule of good digestion:  Do not eat Protein with Carb-hydrates {this is “contra” many peoples favorite habits and addictions, i know!}.  When you eat Flesh foods such as eggs, meat, poultry, and fish your stomach produces hydrochloric acid and an enzyme called “pepsin”.  If you eat starch, your body produces an enzyme called “ptyalin” and an alkaline terrain develops.  So Protein and Carb-hydrates eaten together produces a stop of the digestion… the acidic and alkaline conditions neutralize each other.
Today at the Organic Farm… this place rocks!

So when you eat proteins with “non-starchy” vegetables or sea-vegetables you assure a proper digestion and assimilation of the proteins.

Starchy vegetables: potatoes – winter-squash – beans – chestnut {kastanien}… and the carb-hydrates are cereals, bread, pasta
3rd rule of easy digestion:  Avocados, cheese, seeds, nuts combine best with “non-starchy” green vegetables, acid fruits, and ocean vegetables.  Always eat the “raw food” before the “cooked food”, as raw food digest quickly and will not stay in the stomach with the cooked food creating fermentation.

Some people digest “sweet fruits” better when not mixed with “acid fruits”.
Fruits: If eating fruits, try to eat them organically grown… apples and berries are particularly sensitive to pesticides.  Eat fruit if you are not eating lots of Fats.
If you eat “dried fruits”, soak them before in water for 4 hours to help the assimilation and digestion.
Living proof that it’s alive! Wild greens near our house…

AND REMEMBER!  FILL YOUR STOMACH TO 80% OF ITS CAPACITY ONLY… THE 20% ARE FOR THE DIGESTION.

EAT 80% ALKALINE…  20% ACID.
EAT AT LEAST 60% RAW…  40% COOKED FOOD.
EAT WHEN AT EASE, SIT DOWN, CHEW WELL. EAT WHOLE FOODS, NOT PACKAGED OR PRESERVED.
EAT FRESH ORGANIC FRUITS, VEGGIES, MEAT, DAIRY.

TEST FOR “FOOD ALLERGY”  IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS.
BY FOLLOWING THESE SIMPLE RULES YOU WILL BE GIVING YOURSELF AN INCREDIBLE GIFT!
Now, the “finishing touches” for today…  it is a little poem from a very sweet man who just died in his late nineties.  His name is “Jack LaLanne”, and for over 60 years, he was sharing his vision of health, freshjuices, exercise, and fitness   He was a true pioneer in the U.S. fitness industry.

Yoga, fresh air, and sun… electro-magnetic bliss!

“Exercise is King
Nutrition is Queen
Put them together and
You’ve got a Kingdom”

So… friends let’s remember-

exercise,

earthing,

yoga,
conscious touch,
food combining,
love,
meditation
are the highway to health.

Feel many good vibrations flowing your way… with love,   Anasha

      Hi beloved Manyu…
ABSOLUTELY! i just love nettles in my smoothies… and right now it is “popping all over!” We also got some lately. See you at Parimal… you’re gonna love it there, because there are so many musicians and singing around, and ARUN as a “Meditation Retreat” is VERY DIFFERENT than doing it in the City. Smiles and love, Anasha

        hi Manyu sweeti
great to hear how well you are doing.
for smoothies i prefer to not give a lot of recipes as it is depending at what you can get in your shop.
i do get mangos, papayas or pineapple also and mostly the papaya is not organic but it is one of the least sprayed fruits.
if you have access to coconut water, take the water instead of water.
maca: no it is a root and create gas. After the cleanse you can incorporate if you like but for now it would be too heavy for digestion.
for cabbage, black Kale is fantastic, cabbage leaves yes if you make a non sweet smoothie, more like the soup version and i have recipes in the september blog.
        enemas:yes
apple juice :yes and do the cleanse after the week
        keep rocking and hasta pronto
        hugs and kisses

Thank you dear. Yes i am sure i am gonne love it. Will bring my djembee with me as well. Everything is taken care of , and Pujarin is just so loving and supporting!

I have more questions about the smoothies. Difficult sometimes to find out what combinations are good, so I just improvise with the organic things I can get here and experience.
*How about the use of cabbages. In Holland we have a lot of different ones. They ar easy to get biological as well. Somtimes the leaves are a bit hard, but my blender is doing great!
*Is it OK to use the macca powder to mix in the juice
*In these 7 days cleaning, I also do 3 enema’s in a row every morning. And drinking apple juice , so I can flush my liver stones again. I feels good so far, little sensitive but OK. ( i am on my 3th day, because i was in Poland for a group) CAn ytiu give some feedback on this?

I am learning so much from both of you. Feel very connected. Also nice that friends and family start getting a bit curious about all these things, when they see me with my smoothy jar etc.. So I share as much as feels good. (which is not so easy sometimes)

Main thing is, that my body is really appreciating all this new attention and love.

So,, on behalve of my body: merci , grandes bises et beaucoup d’amour!
