Yippee! Anasha & I are settling into our “New Phase”… After selling our beautiful Healing Sanctuary in Vilcabamba, Ecuador, we are living in Portugal… and we LOVE it! I feel like the best is unfolding so beautifully for us both. This feels like a Miracle, as we are both very old foxes – lol!
While there is still time, I would love to “spread a Touch-based Healing & Meditation Virus” to anyone ready for inner transformation and Conscious Touch as a Meditation.
Here are some excerpts from a Book I am composing entitled “The Electro-Magnetism of OSHO” (https://buddha.live/events/). Your comments are welcome, Friends—especially if we have ever met on a Massage table, in a Meditation, Singing, or in a Class over the past 50 years.
The Initiation: From Basketball to Buddhafield
In 1976, I was a young ex-university basketball player, practicing yoga teacher, and real estate businessman from California when I first sat before OSHO (then known as Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh) in his Ashram in India. I had no idea that my life was about to become a lifelong “Song of Conscious Touching.” During that initiation, when he touched my third eye, the dams of my conditioned mind broke completely, and I was catapulted into a new reality.
OSHO gave me the name Prem Anubuddha, meaning “Love’s Awakening & the Essence of Awareness.” He described my spiritual sadhana as a precise balance—moving between being with people and being alone, as natural and necessary as the inhale and exhale of a single breath. For fifty years, I have stayed close to that instruction. It hasn’t been a flowery path; it has been a down-to-earth immersion in the human body, exploring how the human hand can become a vehicle for the divine.
From 1975–1994, I was part of “OSHO’s Buddhafield”—a total environment for transformation. Surrounded by sannyasin musicians, world-class therapists, martial artists, and healers, we beautified communes, built stunning architecture, and ran Zorba the Buddha restaurants and discos worldwide. Every part of life—from silent meditations in the Buddha Hall to high-energy gardening—was designed to dismantle the ego and allow the spirit to overflow.
The Cauldron of Synthesis: Drinking from Many Rivers
In this cauldron, under Osho’s direct guidance, I co-created and taught Osho Rebalancing, Cranial Sacral Sensitivity, and Hara Awareness, while leading Neo-Yoga classes. Giving thousands of individual sessions in OSHO’s Caravanserai, I benefited immensely. I feel like I have literally touched “10,000 Buddhas.”
A higher synthesis formed within my hands as I studied a “rainbow” of touching strategies, drinking from many rivers:
- Energy Healing: The light, “off-the-body” energy of Reiki.
- CranioSacral: The subtle rhythms of CranioSacral Pulses.
- Movement: The “liquid” movements of Trager and Feldenkrais.
- Eastern Traditions: Stretching and energy-line touches of Shiatzu, Reflexology, and Thai Yoga Massage.
- Structural Work: Deep-tissue intensity of Rolfing, Postural Integration, and Spinal Balancing with Osteopathy & Chiropractic adjustments.
I constantly synthesized these “rivers,” deeply informed by the Tantric secrets of Shiva, the Inner Science of Yoga, the effortless “water-way” of the Tao, the devotion of the Sufis, the “Psychology of the Buddhas”, and the sharp, sudden Satori of Zen.
150 Sessions: Serving as Osho’s Touch-Based Doctor
The invisible transmission of this “Higher Synthesis” came through my nine months serving as Osho’s touch-based doctor. Over 150 individual sessions, I witnessed the ultimate “Mathematics” of the human body meeting the “Meditation” of the soul.
I saw a man who had been poisoned and was in extreme pain, yet remained in a state of absolute relaxation and Tathata (total, unconditional acceptance). He was a “Zorba the Buddha” in the flesh. OSHO taught me firsthand that in every touch, there is a shared circle of consciousness with no “giver” and “receiver.” Seeing beyond my technical training, he told me directly, “Anubuddha has the knack.”
My experience of Osho’s physical state—especially after the trauma of his poisoning and imprisonment—rests on four pillars:
1. The Alchemy of Pain and Witnessing
Osho’s ability to remain free from the grip of pain from thallium poisoning is the highest expression of Vipassana through the skin. Most people “contract” around pain, turning physical discomfort into psychological suffering. Osho practiced radical expansion, witnessing the pain as a “peripheral event.” In ARUN, we teach this as the neutral witness—you may have pain, but you are the consciousness watching it.
2. Extreme Relaxation as a Spiritual Rebellion
His lack of emotional tension in a broken body was revolutionary. The American government could imprison his body, but they could not imprison his Hara (center). When the body stops fighting its own reality, a “Higher Intelligence” (the Medicine Buddha) takes over. His relaxation was a total “yes” to the present moment—the most powerful healing frequency in existence.
3. The “Circle of Touch”: No Giver, No Receiver
In traditional bodywork, the doctor is active and the patient is passive. With OSHO, that duality dissolved. I was “touching the Buddha,” but his presence was simultaneously “touching” me. This Circle of Energy is the heartbeat of ARUN. It is a Shared Meditation where the practitioner’s state of being—their laughter, presence, and lack of fear—is just as medicinal as physical technique.
4. The Message for NOW & the Future
This lesson—that Presence is more powerful than Poison—is exactly what the younger “digital” generations need. Living in high emotional tension and constant reaction, my story of Osho’s laughter in the face of adversity proves that the ARUN Trilogy is a vital survival skill for the modern soul.
The Integration of Anasha: The Great Trilogy (The 3 M’s)
While Osho acknowledged my “knack,” it was my meeting and lifelong partnership with Anasha in Amsterdam in 1985 that allowed this synthesis to blossom into a global healing art. Already an experienced teacher in Breath Awareness and Subtle Energy Touch, her input became essential. OSHO gave her the name Anasha, meaning “Prayer of the Indestructible & Worship of the Divine.”
Together for 40 years, we have developed and shared ARUN worldwide, structuring it around the “Great Trilogy” (The 3 M’s) which mirror Osho’s vision:
1. Mathematics (Anatomy & Fascia)
The sacred geometry of our bones, joints, and bio-electrical field. Anasha and I bring a profound understanding of how unlived emotions, fears, and belief systems are physically rooted and stored within the body tissues and fascia. She teaches us to “feel each thought” in the physical armor, transforming anatomical awareness into an intimate psychological map—the “Psychology of the Buddhas.”
2. Music (Authentic Love & Receptive Touch)
Anasha revolutionized my technical approach by emphasizing the passive, receptive power of the feminine touch. You cannot consciously touch another if you are at war with your own body; you must first learn to “witness your own interior.” Through her insight, the hand ceases to “do” or try to “fix” a machine. Instead, it becomes a pure, non-judgmental mirror—a “mothering hand” holding a space of absolute safety so the nervous system can finally drop its defenses and heal itself.
3. Meditation (The Witness & The Tao of Breathing)
Central to our practice is the Tao of Breathing & “Fitness for the Witness,” shaped deeply by Anasha’s realization of the “original breath.” Her guidance is exquisitely simple yet structurally profound:
“Letting the breath come, letting it go, and waiting for the next breath to come by itself.”
She illuminates the “gap”—the natural pause between breaths. In this gap, the mind’s chatter stops, the “Inner Sky” expands, and we realize we are not our pain or our bodies; we are the timeless consciousness witnessing the organic unity of thought, movement, and emotion.
A Map for a Touch-Starved World
Through our shared work, we recognize that the hands have their own eyes, ears, heart, and brain. Today, my hands move intuitively toward a blockage before my mind even registers its existence—the fruit of my fire and structural clarity synthesized with Anasha’s vast interior space and emotional literacy.
Today, we see a world profoundly touch-starved, head-heavy, and lost in a digital fog. The younger generations are hyper-connected online but physically numb, suffering from digital burnout that no app can fix.
In an era of Artificial Intelligence, Authentic Human Presence is becoming the most valuable commodity on Earth.
To work as an ARUN practitioner is to enter a “Blue Ocean”—a self-replenishing cycle where you grow more radiant and vital yourself.
We are in our mid-70s, and our time to share this priceless understanding is shrinking. Both the younger generations and our aging population need this love and awareness of the miraculous Human Energy Field more than ever. We welcome you to join us now, and spread the word!
The communal energy of OSHO’s Buddhafield lives in our hands today as a consciousness beyond the body that is always present. Our Joy and Love is to show that you can be a “Zorba” who enjoys the material world and a “Buddha” who is free. It is all one organic unity.
Love is the path, Awareness is the guide, and the Body is the door.
